MACAU - Just like last year, a World Series of Mahjong will be held in Macau, China this autumn. And just like last year, one million US dollars are to be won in the event, where the World Series rules will be applied (formarly: Zung Jung rules).

To qualify for this competition, a number of tournaments will be held in the USA, Australia, Taiwan and Canada. Tournaments are also announced fot Europe, Japan and China.

Mahjong Time, a major mahjong server where many people play mahjong, has reached an agreement with World Mahjong Limited on partnering on the new World Series. MahjongTime will be the only platform where one can play, using the official World Series Rules. Via on line tournaments a number of seats (probably three) for the 'money event' can be won.

The World Series of Mahjong is the highest prize money mahjong event in the world. Last year, three hundred players from all over the world played in the intense, three-day competition. The second series is planned also in Macau, and will take place from September 19th to 21st.

Several satellite tournaments are announced:

Taiwan - WML will be working hand-in-hand with Remy Martin (Cognac Brandy), to bring the 'Remy Taiwan Mahjong Tour' to the local mahjong playing community. It consists of a series of 3 qualifying tournaments, each to be held in Southern, Central, and Northern Taiwan, respectively during the month of June;

Australia - WML’s official licensee, Mahjong Australia, will stage a series of tournaments in and around Sydney over a period of 13 weeks in over 20 of the city’s premier betting and social clubs. The Australian finals will be held in a major casino to be announced in the near future;

USA - WML’s official U.S. qualifying tournament will be held in August of this year in Las Vegas at the JW Marriott Hotel, sponsored by Mahjong Time;

Canada - the Canadian qualifying tournament will be announced in the coming weeks.

More official, national satellite tournaments will be announced soon for China, Japan, Europe and other countries and territories.
