LONDON  - The race continues! Twenty six contestants from seven countries compete for prizes. Let's take a look at ranking in Sherlock Holmes Mahjong Mysteries Solving Contest after mystery #6 -- the most controversal mystery so far.

sh

The current ranking in the Sherlock Holmes Contest (updated 2017~03~20). Twenty six contestants have ranked after submitting solutions for mystery #6. Nine of them have full score. A big deal of top-score contestants could not solve the second part of mystery #6 from the first attempt. Some of contestants abandoned solving the second part with the only words "looking forward to see the solution".

Scoring criteria

Typical full score for the mystery is 2 SHP () plus 1 bonus SHP () for acting within 3-days after publication (please, note that bonus is scored regardless of the solution being correct or not). Typical partial score for the solution is 1 SHP (), there are no "halfs" or "fractons" of SHP. So, it is up to the author to decide how much each solution deserves when solution is not full. Whenever the contestant is on the right track but with a solution that is not perfect, the author will send e-mail / contact via social net asking for clarification or to recommend reconsideration of the solution. So, please, write correct addresses for you to be able to receive any feedback in time.

However, since there are as many as nine contestants with full score in order to determine the real winner author will limit influence on solving mysteries by contestants.

For mysteries with multiple questions or mysteries allowing different complexities of solutions, additional criteria of scoring may be set.

Ranking criteria

First criterion of ranking is based on total sum of acquired scores. The second criteria is "timestamp" to help determine rankings for ties. In simple words it means that whoever send correct answer earlier will get higher place other conditions beeing equal.

Scores after mystery #6 of the 5th season -- Charleston
