NIJMEGEN, March 31st, 2008 - Organizers Martin Rep (left in the picture) and Sjef Strik have announced the last Golden Dragon Tournament. The Jubilee Tournament, to be held coming November, will be a spectacular goodbye party. The Dutch Golden Dragon Tournament is the largest official yearly mahjong tournament in Europe.

Marianne Croeze: second victory in Paris.

PARIS, April 26th - Incroyable! Dutch player Marianne Croeze today won the French Open Championship for the second time in a row.

Mrs. Croeze (she is on a modest 28th position on the European ranking list) ended just before Mrs. Sandra Bondoin from France, who became champion of France. Third prize was for Mrs. Yukari Kugimiya from Japan.

Austria invites new world champion.
CHENGDU, November 5th - Chinese player LiLi today was celebrated as the new world champion in mahjong. He accepted the invitation of the organizing committee of the European championship 2009 to come and play in the EC in Austria.
