Halasz Wins 2014 Austrian Open and Sisi Cup

Sisi2014AUSTRIA, Bruck September 7th - Pal Halasz takes 2014 Sisi Cup MCR tournament with 40 points, followed tightly by Gunter Gintsberger with 39 and Martin Scheichenbauer at 34. Pal Halasz also wins the Austrian Open with 22 points, followed tightly by Miklos Imre with 21 and Gabriele Sallmutter at 20.

Linghua Jiao from China New World Mahjong Champion

UTRECHT - Linghua Jiao from China is the new World Mahjong Champion. Runner-up is Olivier Boivin from France, third prize is for Elisabeth Frischenschlager from Austria.

Linghua is the successor to her fellow-countryman Li Li, who won the World Mahjong Championship 2007 (Chengdu, China). Li Li was not at Utrecht to defend his title.
