Strik and RepNIJMEGEN - Sjef Strik and Martin Rep, the two organizers of the Golden Dragon Tournament, have done their best to make their last event to a real party. For the jubilee tournament, which was concluded today, they had rented a beautiful location (the Triavium Congress Centre in Nijmegen) and offered the players two well-provided lunches, whilte there was a unique Golden Dragon Jubilee mahjong ruler for every player. Finally, they had organized a real swinging closing ceremony.

After organizing ten Golden Dragon Tournaments, Martin and Sjef think it is enough. They have not looked for successors to continue the tournament. "The name of the Golden Dragon is ours, and ours alone", they say. For this last tournament, they used the savings they earned on the previous tournaments, and they were sponsored by the internet mahjong server Mahjong Time.

During the closing ceremony, Sjef and Martin were honoured. Mrs. Dicky Rep presented them the guestbook, which was signed by almost all players. Martins brother Jelte had made a videoclip for them. During the party, Hungarian mahjong player András Boda showed another face of his versatile and unique personality: he gave an impressive interpretation of a Barry White lovesong. The audience gave him big cheers for that.

The final classification was presented in a Power Point presentation. For every player there was a certificate. Adrie van Geffen presented the first copy of his mahjong workbook to the player who ended on the last position. A unique OEMC 2005 bamboo mahjong set was handed over to Jeroen Meijer, who had won the mahjong quiz, created by Jelte Rep about his on line mahjong museum.
