LabichVIENNA - Anders Labich from Denmark is the riichi player who has scored the best results in the past year. Désirée Heemskerk (the Netherlands) is the runner-up, and the third best player is again a Dane: Morten Anderson.

These are the results of another 'best of' list, made by Austrian mahjong player Alexander Doppelhofer.

DoppelhoferAlexander recently had his 'best MCR player of 2009' published in Mahjong News. He had not made a riichi list before, since formal EMA riichi tournaments were not held until 2008, when the first European Riichi Mahjong Championship took place, in Hanover (Germany.

So, unlike the MCR list, comparisons with earlier rankings are not possible.
