LabichVIENNA - Anders Labich from Denmark is the riichi player who has scored the best results in the past year. Désirée Heemskerk (the Netherlands) is the runner-up, and the third best player is again a Dane: Morten Anderson.

These are the results of another 'best of' list, made by Austrian mahjong player Alexander Doppelhofer.

VIENNA - 'Like was to be expected', Ms. Bo Lang from Switzerland is the European mahjong player with the best results in MCR-tournaments over the past year. Alexander Doppelhofer from Austria has made up his long-awaited list of the best results of 2008. Bo ended as the runner-up in the European championship 2009, right after winner Koji Idota from Japan.

Martin ScheichenbauerBADEN - Martin Scheichenbauer is the new Austrian champion. The 'Orchid Tournament', which was concluded today at Baden, was the last of the four tournaments of the Austrian Champions Race. He collected just 0,5 point more than the runner-up, Günter Gintsberger. Norbert Tschinkel ended on the third position.
