COPENHAGEN - The European Mahjong Association EMA has re-established the official ranking for online tournaments. This 'MORSE' (Mahjong Online Ranking System Europe) was discontinued last year, when EMA cancelled the cooperation with Mahjong Time, the organizer of online tournaments. Exclusively for its readers, MahjongNews from now on presents the World MORSE Ranking, as a spin-off of the formal EMA Ranking. The new MORSE no longer is dependent from Mahjong Time. EMA can acknowledge any online tournament to be used for the official ranking.According to EMA president Robert Rijnders, the decision has been taken since the discontinuation of the cooperation with MahjongTime has nothing to do with the legitimacy of the MORSE. As a result of this, the Mahjong News ranking contains the names of 127 players, while the EMA Ranking list 97 European players. Both the EMA Ranking as the Mahjong News Ranking is calculated by Adrie van Geffen (his website). The new World MORSE ranking |
