PARIS - The official EMA Riichi Mahjong Ranking List, after thirteen tournaments: The European Riichi Mahjong Championship 2008, the Austrian Championship 2008, the Open Danish) Riichi Championship 2008, the Dutch Kinryu Majan Taikai 2008, the Danish Riichi Copenhagen Open 2008, the Vienna Open 2008, the Cherry Blossom Tournament 2009, the German Riichi Open 2009, the Open Austrian 2009, the Aarhus Open 2009, the Kinryu Majan Taikai 2009, the Danish Riichi Open 2009 and the Cherry Blossom Tournament 2010.

The next tournament that will count for the Riichi Ranking, is the Danish Open, Aarhus, June 19~20.

PARIS, France - The updated EMA MCR Ranking list. Luca Gavelli from Italy is still number 1 on the list. Next tournament with a MERS certification will be the Open Graz Tournament (Austria, March 20~21).

COPENHAGEN - The European Mahjong Association EMA has re-established the official ranking for online tournaments. This 'MORSE' (Mahjong Online Ranking System Europe) was discontinued last year, when EMA cancelled the cooperation with Mahjong Time, the organizer of online tournaments. Exclusively for its readers, MahjongNews from now on presents the World MORSE Ranking, as a spin-off of the formal EMA Ranking.

NIJMEGEN - The World EMA MORSE Ranking list, published exclusively by Mahjong News. Unlike the EMA list, this ranking contains all the names of the players who have participated in the officially acknowledged online tournaments. The EMA list, due to its nature, implies only the names of the European players.

'Tina from Denmark the best player'

VIENNA - Austrian mahjong player Alexander Doppelhofer likes to play with statistics. He is a passionate reader of all kinds of on line rankings. In the past, together with other Austrian players, he even designed another way of calculating the European Mahjong Ranking, which, by the way, was rejected by EMA.
But this does not mean he has given up calculating and re-calculating the various ranking lists. Perhaps even earlier than the official EMA statistical expert Sébastien Berret, he knows exactly who has moved up and who is going down on the EMA ranking as well on the EMA Riichi Ranking.

In The Dutch ranking, all official Dutch tournaments are implied, in any of the four acknowledged mahjong variants: MCR, Riichi, Dutch Tournament Rules and Hong Kong Mahjong.
