Jonas Alm of Mahjong LogicISLE OF MAN - Mahjong Logic has received its gaming license. According to Mr.Jonas Alm, CEO of Mahjong Logic, this was the result of the hearing which was held on the Isle of Man yesterday. This means that quite soon, playing for money will be possible on this new internet mahjong server.

Jonas Alm: "There is still some paperwork that needs to be done, but we hope to be online towards the end of next week with real money games. It will be a rather slow start throughout December in order to test everything and will then have our partners run full marketing campaigns starting January."

Hi,

Just read the article about Mahjong Logic. What is the potential for online gambling with Mahjong? Will it be the next poker boom?

Unless things pick up greatly with any of the Mahjong Logic based clients, there will be no need for the ability to use money. After a week of trying the various clients of MJ Logic, I have only played games against other players twice. Personally I'm surprised that the server for this is still running. No one is going to keep supporting a site where you can't even find enough people for a two player game, much less wait for hours to get 3-4 players. MJ Logic and all of it's clients are a waste.

I think the problem is that there are still better clients for free play (at least for riichi). Other sites already have a solid playerbase as well. Now that the money games have been going for a couple of days, it doesn't look like people are willing to spend money for this game - only free games are played. Can't really say marketing these sites has been done well either.

But then again, they just started so things might sort out. Time will tell what happens to Mahjong Logic sites.
