That's hilarious, thanks for a good laugh.
Many thanks
Other sites, I've seen Kong88.com, emahjong.net, tenhou.net, are more focussed on playing mahjong for cash. Especially the latter is much faster and with a lot of players on it. But all Japanese and no time to have a drink or roll a cigarette. For practise I choose tenhou, for fun I choose MJT, for a regular tournament (every day) I choose e-mahjong. If you want real clunky, then go and see kong88.
None has to die, let the players choose (and have a choice). By lack of players some of the sites might die, but that is their business.
- Tenhou can make you cash.
- Tenhou can be played for free and has over 600 000 registered IDs, and 352911 active users.
The first is obviously false.
The second is not only true, but can be reinforced that aside from maintenance, there is always 1500 people on the server, and 7000+ now around midnight (Japan time).
http://tenhou.net/man/ UPDATED 2009/11/14 07:40 / アクティブプレーヤ数:352911 (55-60% into the page, right near the bottom has the dates the ID number hits something. Projected 700000 by Christmas.)
http://tenhou.net/stat/access.html - Straightforward, no Japanese knowledge required.
Sure, MahjongTime can live on, and you can play a zillion rule variants, but remember where the love is. It's directly proportional to the number of users, this is the gold standard.
