GUANGZHOU - A lawsuit from a 71-year-old man protesting a new rule banning mahjong on park grounds in Guangzhou ('Kanton'), Guangdong province, was dismissed last Thursday. The old man filed suit against the city's landscape and forestry bureau after he was prohibited from playing the popular game last September. The Guanzhou Yuexiu District People's Court, which ruled against the man, also said the district had the right to pass such a regulation. (New Express Daily) |
