ecriichi2010-day1HANOVER - The Dutch are in the lead after the first day of the 2010 European Riichi Mahjong Championship in Hanover. Sjef Strik is in the number one position, followed by Maurice Demmer; both from the Nijmegen Golden Dragon club. Number three is Tina Christensen from Denmark.

 

Eighty players are participating in the championship, which is being held in the Hanover Jazz Club and organized by the Hanover Mahjong Club.
On the first day of the tournament, five hanchan (rounds) were played. The tournament will be concluded tomorrow (Sunday), with three more hanchan to go.
