Personal choiceUnfortunately for the more experienced players, everything is announced: whether you can make a set or can declare Riichi or make mahjong. The latter is only done when you really have 8 points in MCR or 1 Yaku in Riichi. As a player you cannot make a mistake, which takes out one of the attractive aspects of playing. If you are furiten in Riichi, the system tells you and you don’t get an option to make the mistake by declaring mahjong wrongfully. Neither can you declare a false mahjong in MCR with not enough points.
As far as I have seen there is no ranking or rating system, but perhaps when the site grows something like that will be implemented.

The system is around for almost a year but it went ‘official’ and for cash at the start of 2010. To get people interested there are daily free roll tournaments with cash to win. There are sit and go tables, for two, three or four players, but apart from the mentioned tournaments hardly ever anyone is available. You can only find out by checking your friends list, sitting at a table and wait or ask in the chat box. If you don’t find anyone then you can use the practice room and play against three robots.
When playing a tournament, some players tend to leave if they no longer have a chance to win. This means that the play is taken over by the system and that means a faster play. Just like when a player has declared Riichi: tiles are discarded immediately. Sometimes this speed makes the system hick. It also makes you give a choice to make a set or mahjong a long way before the actual tile is discarded. This makes it a bit confusing and it also gives one the feeling that the system is looking ahead (which of course it is).

We welcome players of all skill levels to play in our client, and to make sure our solution offers a challenge even to more advanced players, we have consulted mahjong game pros regarding the rules, the gameplay and the point calculations of the hands. We also want to reach the more common mahjong players with average skill level, that’s why we have chosen to announce when you have an option to make a set, declare Riichi and make Mahjong.
To further develop our mahjong solution, the new client release mentioned above will include number of new features such as a new game type, another rule set and a wider line up of tournaments, both freerolls and prize tournaments.
One of our highest priorities is to prevent fraud and in order to make the gameplay free from such behavior we have prevented players from the same ip address to be seated at the same table.
Players from the same ip address can take two seats in a tournament, but in a tournament you are always randomly seated and you have no way to affect who you will play against.
It is very important to us to offer a secure gaming experience to our customers, that's why we have our gaming solution approved and regulated by our gaming license at Isle of Man and eCogra.

I agree Adrie when he says :
"As a player you cannot make a mistake, which takes out one of the attractive aspects of playing."
The system has to propose you to make Mah-Jong even if you have not enough point in your hand !
2.
flower replacement after the deal must be done before the first player plays ! And not at the turn of the player !
Actually, the more flower you have, the more handicapped you are if you have to pung something in the first turn (when your hand seems to go for all types for example, and if you have to pung a dragon, while having 3 flowers, you can have hesitation to go for all types or not as your hand is not fully complete)
Bots are too stupid...
And they play too fast.
When you are playing a tournament, and if at the last turn you play with the players who are the very last of the tournament, such players disconnect from the tournament. Then, you are playing with 2 bots, and only one real player.
You're east, the other real player is south.
When South discard, the game is so quick that the 2 bots play and discard in the same second than the south player. So you have to analyse 3 discards (whose 2 are stupid) in the 10 seconds you have to play.
In a tournament with round of 80 minutes, you have to play 80 minutes OR 16 games...
If you play with 2 bots, the game is so quick that you can play 25 games within the 80 minutes, and as the 2 bots can't win... it's a duel... where you can find score like +650 +20 -300 -370... amazing... mostly if the other table are complete and play only 18 games and have normal score like +100 +50 -50 -100...
5.
you have to make something to avoid looser players quit the tournament before the end (and then make "stupid tables" in the last round).
For example : you can take $60 to register. And give back $45 if players plays the entire tournament.
