Giant Italian Mahjong TilesUDINE, May, 10th - Players of the mahjong club at Udine, Italy, presented themselves with gigantic mahjong tiles during the 2012 Far East Film Festival. Playing with the extraordinatiy tiles was welcomed by lots of spectators.

| To supplement the previous comment, the weight of defensive play isn't as much dependent on the pattern scoring as on the payoff scheme (who pays the losses). Uniform scoring can have very high defensive factor if you apply "discarder-pay-all" scheme. In fact, riichi is not any better than uniform scoring (with easy pinfu hands, dora and ura-dora and such), but it remains a highly defensive game entirely because of its payoff scheme. |
