| The 5-point limit is a rule I don't like which was adopted because of popular demand. I tolerated it because the tournament format introduced a side effect which changed the /utility/ of the chicken hand. (For a leading player, winning a chicken hand is far from "no gain" because it brings the round closer to a favorable conclusion.) I'll talk about this in more details in my book. |
