Giant Italian Mahjong TilesUDINE, May, 10th - Players of the mahjong club at Udine, Italy, presented themselves with gigantic mahjong tiles during the 2012 Far East Film Festival. Playing with the extraordinatiy tiles was welcomed by lots of spectators.

NIJMEGEN, the Netherlands - Marianne Croeze today has won the Nijmegen Cherry Blossom Tournament (riichi mahjong). All players on the honorary stand were Dutch: runner-up was Ton Rijnders, Ingrid Broeder ended on third position. With sixty participants from eight countries, the Cherry Blossom Tournament broke a new record as the largest regular riichi tournament in Europe. The Cherry Blossom Tournament was the last qualifier for the Dutch participation to the European Riichi Championship, coming summer in Hanover, Germany. The Netherlands are entitled to send nineteen players. Pictures of the tournament |
