ROTTERDAM - Because it took so long for the ranking to become public, I decided to calculate the results myself. Doing that I discovered some ‘errors’. The most important one was that disqualified players (not turning up) were removed from the results and the number of participants was decreased. The latter is not according to how it was done during live tournaments. In the new ranking I have used the number of players in the end score and put down disqualified players for zero points. Morse is no longer endorsed by the EMA. But tournaments go on and so will rankings, using the same rules. The DIY-GMO 2009 had the required 16 players from EMA countries. So I have entered it in this new Mahjong Online Ranking System Europe, now unofficial. Only European players who participated in at least two tournaments are listed.

OEMC Movies Online
On the occasion of the 100th MERS tournament, directors Bram van Erkel and Jelte Rep have granted permission to publish online the movies they made on the occasion of the first MERS tournament, the OEMC2005 in Nijmegen, the Netherlands.
Mr. Van Erkel and Mr. Rep made a documentary about the competition, which now can be watched on YouTube.
