AARHUS/ALMERE - Subscription is opened for two international riichi mahjong tournaments. Both events are certificied for the Riichi Ranking List of the European Mahjong Association. In Aarhus (Denmark), the Aarhus Open will take place on August 29th (1 point for the ranking). About one month later, September 26, in Almere (the Netherlands) the Kinryu Majan Taikai (2 points) will be held. The latter tournament is one is a series of two which count for the Dutch championship riichi mahjong.

On the occasion of the 100th MERS tournament, directors Bram van Erkel and Jelte Rep have granted permission to publish online the movies they made on the occasion of the first MERS tournament, the OEMC2005 in Nijmegen, the Netherlands.
Mr. Van Erkel and Mr. Rep made a documentary about the competition, which now can be watched on YouTube.
