UDINE, May, 10th - Players of the mahjong club at Udine, Italy, presented themselves with gigantic mahjong tiles during the 2012 Far East Film Festival. Playing with the extraordinatiy tiles was welcomed by lots of spectators.

Smoking mahjong playersHONG KONG (China) - The smoking ban ordinance will be fully implemented on July 1. Bars, night clubs, saunas and massage parlours and mahjong houses will be no smoking areas.

Hong Kong Council on Smoking and Health chairman Lisa Lau said income of restaurants had increased by 13.4 percent after the implementation of the first phase of the ordinance in 2007, while the number of smokers dropped by two percent. Some restaurant owners said the smoking ban policy will attract more non-smoking customers and avoid conflicts between restaurant staff and customers.

On the occasion of the 100th MERS tournament, directors Bram van Erkel and Jelte Rep have granted permission to publish online the movies they made on the occasion of the first MERS tournament, the OEMC2005 in Nijmegen, the Netherlands.
Mr. Van Erkel and Mr. Rep made a documentary about the competition, which now can be watched on YouTube.
