BADEN - According to the visitors of this website, the winner of the OEMC 2009 will come either from Denmark, or from the Netherlands of from Italy.
This a the result of a non-representative poll, which run on the front page of The Independent Internet Mahjong Newspaper during the month of May.

Mahjong News may be an international web site, with English as the official language - in May, the Dutch edition was not running yet - the better part of its visitors is from Holland. This is made clear by the results of the poll. Of course, there are some strong Dutch players, but none of them can be found in the MCR top-ten of the European Mahjong Association, which is dominated by Danish, Italian Austrian and French players.
49 visitors filled in the poll; that’s just a fraction of the number of daily visitors (which varies  around 300 daily).
The results were:

Denmark 16,3%
Italy 16,3%
the Netherlands
 16,3%
China12,2%
Austria
8,2%
France
6,1%
Japan
6,1%
Germany
4,1%
Great-Britain
2%
Hungary
2%
Other countries
12,2%

Our new poll is about the reward for self-draw in MCR. Is it too high - or not? Some of our columnists will discuss the topic the coming month. The first one is mahjong scholar Alan Kwan.
